Hey friends, I’m really excited to share ‘Out To Sea’, an online film series set in my home town of Queenscliffe and Point Lonsdale in Victoria.
I’ve sat down with some of Australia’s most celebrated and enduring songwriters, where we go deep into life, their creative processes and the challenges and rewards of creating a life-long career in the arts.
Episode one features the incredible Emma Donovan and is available now on Youtube.
Emma’s story is really special, it would mean a lot if you could share it to your friends and family.
A powerful conversation speaking of her early experiences raised in a musical family, to travelling the world with the Black Arm Band, playing world-renowned theatres to remote indigenous communities, and fronting the acclaimed Melbourne soul outfit The Putbacks.
Emma shares deeply on her experiences, songwriting and inspirations and her most recent transition into launching her incredible new solo album ‘Til My Song Is Done’ which is out now via Cooking Vinyl Australia, along with her upcoming national album launch tour.
Out To Sea is a 12 month series featuring in-depth artist conversation with John Butler, Sarah Blasko, Kate Miller Heidke, William Crighton, Clare Bowditch, Abby Dobson, Kevin Mitchell (Bob Evans/Jebediah), Emily Lubitz and many more to be announced soon.
Special thanks to my mates Fraser Montgomery and Nick Huggins for their incredible work on the series.
And of course our amazing sponsors Sea Road Ferries, Lon Retreat & Spa, Borough of Queenscliffe, Queenscliffe Harbour, Regional Arts Victoria for sharing these artists' stories and shining a light on this beautiful part of regional Victoria.
Subscribe now on Youtube so you don’t miss upcoming episodes - your help would make a huge difference in getting the word out there.
I hope you enjoy 'Out To Sea'!
Cheers,
Mark
